WASHINGTON D.C., April 23, 2025 – Proskauer is pleased to welcome Amanda Butler-Jones as a partner in its Private Funds Group as the Firm continues to deepen its market-leading Secondary Transactions and Liquidity Solutions practice. Amanda brings significant experience in the secondary market, with a focus on representing buyers and sellers in the acquisition and sale of investments in the secondary market. Amanda will be the first secondaries-focused partner based in Proskauer’s Washington D.C. office.
“The secondaries market is an extraordinary opportunity for our Firm. The market continues to grow rapidly, and we are committed to maintaining our market-leading position. We will continue to provide our clients with creative, solutions-oriented guidance and advice. I am thrilled to welcome a standout talent like Amanda as we expand our team and footprint,” said Firm Chairman Tim Mungovan.
Amanda’s practice spans traditional LP deals as well as GP-led solutions, including structured secondaries, stapled secondaries, recapitalizations and restructurings. In addition to her secondaries practice, Amanda advises fund sponsors on complex matters involving the formation, structuring and ongoing operation of domestic and offshore funds, including private equity funds, credit funds and real estate funds. She also represents institutional investors in connection with their investments in private investment funds.
“Sustaining our leadership in the secondaries market requires both deep transactional expertise and the ability to anticipate and respond to shifting market dynamics. Amanda embodies this balance and her sophisticated approach to client needs strengthens our ability to deliver tailored, high-impact strategies,” said Christopher Robinson, co-head of the Secondary Transactions and Liquidity Solutions practice. “I’m excited to welcome her to the team and believe that her collaborative mindset and commitment to excellence will strongly align with the goals of our secondaries practice and the Firm.”
“Proskauer is well-known for having a premier secondaries practice, and as I look to deepen my own practice, I am thrilled to join their team. As transaction volumes reach historic highs and deal structures grow increasingly sophisticated, our synergies will allow us to address clients’ needs and help them navigate the complexities of today’s secondaries market,” said Amanda.
In 2024, Proskauer’s secondaries team advised on 430+ transactions globally for more than 100 clients, with a total deal value of over $100 billion. In March, Proskauer was named “Secondaries Law Firm of the Year” in the Americas region by Secondaries Investor, one of the industry’s top recognitions, and was also ranked in the top Band by Chambers USA and Chambers UK in 2024.
Amanda received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts and a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law.
