NEW YORK, June 25, 2025 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, announced today that it advised Robert Wood Johnson, “Woody,” on his agreement to purchase a significant ownership interest in Crystal Palace Football Club, a Premier League football club, from Eagle Football. Closing of the sale is subject to receipt of necessary approvals from the Premier League and the Women’s Super League.
Ambassador Johnson is an American businessman, former United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom, and principal owner of the New York Jets. Ambassador Johnson’s team was led by Ira Akselrad, President of the Johnson Company and a former Proskauer partner. Mr. Akselrad also represented Johnson when he acquired the Jets in January 2000.
