NEW YORK, July 15, 2025 – Leading international law firm Proskauer is honored to share that The Hollywood Reporter has named partners Jason Krochak and Jon Oram to its 2025 “Sports Lawyers Power List”, which spotlights outstanding legal professionals in the sports industry.
As a partner in Proskauer’s Sports Group, Jason has been an integral part of several record-breaking and industry-defining moments in sports. He represents sports leagues, teams, owners, college conferences, private investment funds, financial institutions, gaming companies and corporate sponsors in a wide range of transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, league expansions, financings and governance matters. He also advises on naming rights, sponsorship, media, licensing and various other commercial agreements.
Jason’s experience includes representing the Patrick D. Bowlen Trust in the $4.65 billion sale of the Denver Broncos to the Walton-Penner family; representing a limited partner in the Josh Harris group’s $6B purchase of the Washington Commanders; and advising OL Groupe (now Eagle Football Group) in its acquisition of National Women’s Soccer League club Seattle Reign FC and its subsequent sale of the Club to Carlyle and the Seattle Sounders. Jason has also advised on several market-shaping sports betting deals, including FanDuel’s naming rights and media partnership with Diamond Sports Group and Simplebet’s sale to DraftKings.
Jon, a partner in the Firm’s Sports Group and former member of Proskauer’s Executive Committee, has played an influential role in the sports industry for more than two decades. He advises teams, leagues, owners, financial institutions, corporate sponsors and private equity funds on a broad array of cutting-edge transactional matters, including acquisitions, equity and debt financings and the sale of media, naming, sponsorship and data rights. Jon has also advised on several stadium and arena development projects across the country and has led numerous investments in the sports sector by private equity funds and other institutional investors.
Jon is the principal outside counsel and strategic advisor to Los Angeles 2028 (LA28), the private, non-profit organization that will host and operate the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Jon’s recent experience also includes counseling the WTA Tour in connection with CVC Partners’ $150 million investment in the Tour’s commercial affiliate, WTA Ventures; and representing Tom Brady and Tom Wagner on their investment in the Las Vegas Raiders.
Together, Jason and Jon represented Major League Soccer in its agreements with soccer icon Lionel Messi, an eight-time Ballon d’Or winner and FIFA World Cup champion, to play for Inter Miami FC.
