NEW YORK and PARIS, January 13, 2023 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that Paris-based partner Ana Vermal, co-head of the Firm’s International Arbitration Group, has been appointed to serve as vice chair of the International Bar Association’s (IBA) Arbitration Committee where she will serve a three-year term. The IBA’s new slate of committee officers reflects a diverse pool of international arbitration specialists who represent different legal cultures around the world. The arbitration committee focuses on laws, practice and procedures relating to the arbitration of transnational disputes.
A partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department, Ana represents corporations worldwide in complex international arbitrations arising out of their cross-border business transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution and licensing agreements. She handles arbitral proceedings under the rules of all major arbitral institutions, and is also frequently appointed to serve as arbitrator.
Since 2018, Ana has served on the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), where she participates in the Court’s judicial supervision of ICC arbitrations.
