LOS ANGELES, October 1, 2025 – Proskauer is proud to announce that partner Bart Williams has been appointed by Chief Justice John G. Roberts, Jr. to a three-year term on the Judicial Conference Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure. The appointment is effective October 1, 2025.
The committee, commonly known as the Standing Committee, carries on a continuous study of the rules and recommend changes to the Judicial Conference through Advisory Committees on the Rules of Appellate, Bankruptcy, Civil, Criminal Procedure, and the Rules of Evidence.
Bart is Chair of Proskauer’s Litigation Department and head of its Los Angeles office. He is a nationally recognized commercial litigator, corporate counselor and trial lawyer with a distinguished track record in high-stakes litigation. A Fellow of The American College of Trial Lawyers, Bart has served as lead counsel for numerous Fortune 500 companies in their most challenging and high-profile matters. His expertise spans commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense and internal corporate investigations and he is frequently brought in months or weeks before trial to secure a win.
