In early November, the Private Investment Funds (PIF) In-House Alumni Network gathered with current PIF lawyers in Proskauer’s New York office for the second annual “PIF-giving,” an event focused on giving back.
At the event, PIF alumni and lawyers packed nearly 8,000 meals in support of Proskauer’s long-time not-for-profit partner, — an organization committed to working towards the reduction of hunger and food insecurity throughout New York City. The effort was especially meaningful, as Thanksgiving is the time of year when demand is greatest.
“Participating in PIF-giving is a meaningful way to give back and carry forward the spirit of service that defines the PIF community.””
Andrew Mandelbaum, Director and General Counsel, Lionheart Strategic Management
The meals packed at the gathering also bolster Proskauer’s yearlong pledge to provide “150,000 Meals for the 150th,” one of the defining milestones of the Firm’s 150th anniversary.
After bags were packed and trucks were loaded, PIF alumni and lawyers enjoyed beverages and hors d’oeuvres as they reminisced about their years at Proskauer, shared holiday plans, updated each other on recent developments with their respective families and reflected on the professional challenges and industry trends they expect in the year ahead.
While the gathering provided multiple opportunities for PIF alumni and attorneys to reconnect, it was the service component that left a lasting impression.
“Being part of the PIF In-House Alumni Network reminds me of the power of continued connection and shared purpose,” said , director and general counsel at Lionheart Strategic Management. “Participating in PIF-giving is a meaningful way to give back and carry forward the spirit of service that defines the PIF community. It’s always great to spend time with old friends at Proskauer.”
“I especially appreciate PIF-giving because of the values it embodies. It’s also an ideal setting to reconnect with past colleagues and meet other alumni.””

“It was great to see everyone, and it was a fun event,” said , an associate at Magnitude Capital. “But what I most appreciate is Proskauer’s CSR initiative and its partnership with the not-for-profit, New York Common Pantry. I look forward to participating again in the future!”
