Tara Brailey

Tara Brailey is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the Antitrust and Sports Law Groups. Her practice involves a variety of complex litigation matters around the country. Tara has represented clients in both state and federal courts as well as in arbitrations and government investigations. She has experience with various stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings, coordinating discovery, briefing dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, and preparing witnesses for depositions and trial.

Tara has handled matters for clients across a broad range of industries, including financial services, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, technology, telecommunications, sports and entertainment. She has particular experience counseling professional sports leagues and other clients active in the sports business.

Most recently, Tara was a member of the trial team representing Major League Soccer in a $500M antitrust case based on allegations that Major League Soccer conspired with U.S. Soccer to deny the North American Soccer League its divisional sanctioning applications. The three-week federal trial concluded with the jury delivering a full defense verdict after approximately 90 minutes of deliberation. The trial team was named “Litigators of the Week” by The American Lawyer as well as “Legal Lions” by Law360.

Tara also serves as a Co-Chair of the Firm’s Associate Council and maintains an active pro bono practice. She is currently a member of Family Legal Care’s Lawyers Council and has represented clients in a variety of family court, housing court, and immigration matters. In recognition for her pro bono contributions, Tara has received Proskauer’s Golden Gavel Award.

Prior to joining Proskauer, Tara earned her J.D. from the UC Berkeley School of Law, where she served as an associate editor of the California Law Review and a senior article editor of the Berkeley Journal of International Law. While at Berkeley Law, Tara also worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jane A. Restani in the U.S. Court of International Trade.
