Shiva Pedram is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation spanning a range of industries such as consumer products, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and sports. Shiva has represented clients in both federal and state courts, and in investigations by the SEC and DOJ. She has experience in many stages of litigation, including managing discovery, drafting pleadings, briefing dispositive and discovery motions, and preparing witnesses for depositions and trial.
Most recently, Shiva was part of the trial team that secured a landmark victory for Sanderson Farms in one of the largest antitrust trials in the agricultural industry. The team successfully defeated $7 billion in damages claims following a six-week jury trial in the Northern District of Illinois. The case earned widespread recognition, including AmLaw’s “Litigators of the Week”, Law360’s “Legal Lions” and Benchmark Litigation’s “Impact Case of the Year” award.
Shiva also maintains an active pro bono practice, advocating on behalf of asylum seekers and families who were wrongfully separated at the U.S. border.
Shiva earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School, where she served on the National Security Journal and Middle Eastern Law Students Association. While at Harvard, Shiva represented clients in the Harvard Family and Domestic Violence Clinic and Immigration Clinic. She also worked as a legal intern at the County of San Diego Office of the Primary Public Defender.
