Jana R. Ruthberg

Jana Ruthberg is an associate in the Litigation Department with a focus on a wide range of complex commercial litigation matters, including intellectual property, false advertising, government investigations, class action claims and bankruptcy. She represents clients across a broad range of industries, particularly in media and entertainment, sports and consumer products.

Jana has experience representing clients through many stages of litigation, from filing initial pleadings, drafting dispositive motions, coordinating discovery, assisting with key witness depositions and preparing for trial.

Jana devotes significant time to her pro bono practice, including representing asylum seekers throughout their asylum application process and working with nonprofit organizations to advocate for reproductive freedom.

Jana received her J.D. from the University of Virginia where she was an editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law and served on the boards of the Feminist Legal Forum and the Jewish Law Students Association. During law school, she worked at the Department of Justice in the Office of Policy and Legislation.

Prior to law school, Jana taught English to elementary and middle scho.ol students abroad, and interned at the King’s County Brooklyn District Attorney’s office in the Appeals Bureau. Jana graduated from the University of Michigan with high distinction.
