Hena M. Vora

Hena M. Vora is an associate in the Litigation Department and a member of the Asset Management Litigation, Mass Torts & Product Liability, Real Estate Litigation and Trials groups. Her practice encompasses a range of complex civil and commercial litigation matters, including securities, partnership disputes, insolvency and consumer products.

Hena has experience with various stages of litigation, including managing discovery, drafting dispositive motions and trial memoranda, handling court conferences, taking and defending depositions, and preparing witnesses for depositions and trial. Hena routinely assists on trials across various practices and subject matters. She also regularly represents corporations and board members in complex cases arising from business transactions, including matters before the Delaware Chancery Court and New York Supreme Court Commercial Division. 

Representative matters include:

  • Representing a large pharmaceutical client in trial defending against breach of contract claim
  • Securing a complete dismissal at the trial court and appellate levels on behalf of a prominent private fund client, defending against claims of breach of fiduciary duty, aiding and abetting, and unjust enrichment
  • Conducting a highly sensitive and confidential internal investigation for a prominent non-profit client
  • Assisting on two trial teams that secured complete defense verdicts on behalf of Monsanto in high-profile product liability actions
  • Securing a dismissal at the motion to dismiss stage on behalf of clients defending against claims of breach of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements
  • Representing the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico in litigation and two trials involving the restructuring of Puerto Rico’s debt

Hena currently serves as the immediate past president of the South Asian Bar Association of New York (SABANY) after having served as president of SABANY from 2023-2024. She has been recognized for establishing a partnership between Proskauer’s Boston office and Minds Matter Boston, through which she helps high school students from low-income backgrounds achieve college readiness and success. Hena was also a part of the team that successfully vacated the death penalty against an inmate convicted of a capital offense.

Hena earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law, where she served as a national competitor on the Moot Court team, president of the South Asian Law Students Association, and board member of the Emory Law School Supreme Court Advocacy Program. Before joining Proskauer, Hena served as judicial intern for Judge Denny Chin at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
