Ashley Weringa is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her practice encompasses a broad range of complex matters, including bankruptcy-related litigation. Ashley has represented clients across various industries before federal courts.
Ashley has experience in all phases of litigation, from drafting dispositive motions to preparing witnesses for depositions and bankruptcy confirmation trials. Since joining the firm, she has been a key member on the Proskauer team representing the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico (FOMB) in litigation involving the restructuring of Puerto Rico’s debt burden and the ongoing restructuring of its electrical power system.
Ashley also maintains an active pro bono practice. She is currently representing an asylum applicant and assisting in the appeal of a family-law dispute.
Ashley earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, where she served as a member of DePaul’s Law Review and participated in the DePaul Health and Civil Litigation legal clinic. While at DePaul, she additionally worked as a research assistant for two DePaul professors and was a teacher’s assistant for DePaul’s first year Contracts Law course.
